SHRIMP SPECIES

Shrimp are crustaceans that belong to the order Decapoda and the suborder Pleocyemata. They are widely consumed seafood and are known for their delicate and flavorful meat. Shrimp have a slender, elongated body with a flexible exoskeleton and multiple pairs of legs. They are typically found in both saltwater and freshwater environments, ranging from oceans and seas to rivers and lakes.

Shrimp come in various species, sizes, and colors, with popular examples including white shrimp, brown shrimp, pink shrimp, and tiger shrimp. They are highly valued for their culinary versatility and are used in a wide range of dishes, such as shrimp scampi, shrimp cocktail, stir-fries, curries, and grilled preparations.

Shrimp are caught through fishing or can be farmed in aquaculture systems.
