Transshipment refers to the process of transferring goods or cargo from one transportation vessel or mode to another at an intermediate location or port before reaching the final destination. It occurs when the original transportation route does not provide a direct connection to the final destination, or when cargo needs to be consolidated or redistributed for efficient transportation.
