16 countries will enjoy zero-tariff treatment for aquatic and meat products.

The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China issued the “Announcement on Granting Zero Tariff Treatment to 98% of Tax Items of Least Developed Countries” (Announcement No. 8 [2021] of the Tariff Commission of the State Council), in accordance with the Chinese government and the governments of relevant countries exchange of letters.

From September 1, 2022, Togo, Eritrea, Kiribati, Djibouti, Guinea, Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Nepal, Sudan, The Republic of Solomon Islands, the Republic of Vanuatu, the Republic of Chad and the Central African Republic have zero tariff rates on 98% of the imported products.

China grants zero-tariff treatment to 98% of the products of 16 countries including Togo, which is conducive to practicing the spirit of China-Africa friendly cooperation, sharing market opportunities with these countries, achieving common development, and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

In the follow-up, China will continue to gradually grant zero-tariff treatment to 98% of tax items from the least developed countries that have established diplomatic relations with China, based on the progress of the exchange of letters.
