Each batch of cold chain products at Dalian Port needs to be tested and disinfected one by one. Nucleic acid test for key contacts are required once every 3 days. These are the extreme anti covid-19 measures the port has put in place.
On the afternoon of the 28th, at the Dalian epidemic press conference, the Dalian government announced that it would establish a cold chain food traceability management system at Dalian Port, so that every batch of goods must be inspected and disinfected.
Dalian Port has fully strengthened the supervision of the handling and transportation of imported cold chain food: After the outbreak, the Dayaowan Container Terminal implemented closed management as soon as possible; suspended the bulk cold chain products at Dayaowan terminal and concentrated all imported cold-chain bulk products operations on Liaoyu terminal; increased the frequency of nucleic acid testing for port workers, from once every 7 days to once every 3 days, and all fixed workers will be vaccinated.
It is not allowed to open the container, and not allowed to open the package at will to touch the products during transportation, and it is strictly forbidden to transport imported cold chain products that cannot provide the source of purchase and has no customs certificate.
From a positive point of view, the Dalian government’s announcement shows that the port of Dalian has not stopped the import of frozen products. Imported frozen products can still go through customs clearance procedures. However, the strict disinfection process will inevitably lead to slow pace and will cause important delays.
