In the past month, after the National Day, the price of imported Basa fish in the Chinese market increased. Some factories in China still have small-sized stocks, but large-sized Basa fish stocks have definitely disappeared.
Delays in shipping schedules in the Chinese ports produce shortage of goods. 80% of importers’ goods are in transit.
Imported Basa fish prices are expected to continue to increase in the fourth quarter of 2020. Vietnam’s production of Basa fish in the third quarter of 2020 has registered growth. Apart from China and the US, other countries like Brazil, Thailand, and Egypt have increased theirs imports. It is expected that the last quarter of 2020 will enlarge volume compared with the current quarter.
