The latest data show that the farm delivery prices of various specifications of vannamei in Ecuador continue to remain stable.
As of the 41st week (October 11-17), the average farm price of (HOSO) Ecuadorian vannamei shrimp is 6.40 USD/kg for 20/30; 5.95 USD/kg for 30/40; 40/50 is 5.55 USD/kg; 50/60 is 5.05 USD/kg; 60/70 is 4.65 USD/kg; 70/80 is 4.00 USD/kg; 80/100 is 3.50 USD/kg; 100/120 is 2.70 USD/kg; 120/140 is 2.00 USD/kg.
According to the head of the National Aquaculture Chamber of Commerce in Ecuador, COVID has hit all participants in the shrimp production chain in different ways, “without a direct impact on prices,” he said. “Therefore, it is still difficult to predict whether prices will further rise, fall, or continue to maintain current levels in the coming months, because it depends on the continuous increase in supply and demand and logistics costs.Ò
In addition, near the end of the year, the demand for Ecuadorian shrimp products from China, the European Union and the United States has increased.
Recently, due to the impact of Asian supply problems, logistics costs have increased and prices have risen consequently.
