Russia’s raw materials are restricted in customs clearance, and logistics delays are further aggravated.

For the seafood plants in Qingdao and Dalian, Chinese new year holiday seems to be unhappy. Even if their workers came back after the Spring Festival, the plight of the lack of raw materials in processing plants has not been improved.

At present, China’s major ports are still implementing strict testing and disinfection on imported frozen products, customs clearance is slow, and the product backlog is serious. Some imported frozen products have also received “special treatment”, especially Russian raw fish materials (including pollock, cod, and haddock).

The cargo backlog in Dalian Port is still very severe. Some cargoes have been detained in Dalian Port for more than 2 months, and until now, the unloading notice has not been received. The huge detention fees are increasing every day.

Sources in Qingdao said that last year, Shandong Port implemented “bulk to container”, and Russian bulk carriers were not allowed to enter the port for unloading, and only container ship channels were retained. Russian products have repeatedly tested positive for covid-19, which legitimizes Chinese authorities actions.
