The Information Office of the State Council of China held a press conference on January 14, 2021. Li, the spokesperson of the General Administration of Customs and Director of the Department of Statistics and Analysis, presented the import and export situation in 2020.
Li said that China Customs has stepped up inspections of imported cold chain foods, and is currently implementing new coronavirus nucleic acid sampling tests, focusing on increasing the sampling and testing of imported seafood and other cold chain foods. A total of 1,295,692 samples were sampled and tested by customs across the country, and 47 nucleic acid positive results were detected. The other samples were all negative, and the positive rate was only 0.36 per 10,000.
At present, the customs has taken measures to suspend the import of products from 124 cold-chain food manufacturers from 21 countries where employees have been infected with the virus. Among them, 107 companies voluntarily suspended exports to China after the outbreak of the epidemic.
