China Internet Celebrity Economic Development Forum revealed that the cumulative sales of Qianjiang crayfish products this year have reached 165,000 tons, with sales of 6.5 billion yuan. The digital celebrities and live broadcasting drove the online sales to increase four times.
Despite the dramatic effects of the pandemic in the first half of the year, China’s consumption shows huge potential. Sellers adapted and used internet formats as short videos and live streaming which proved highly efficient.
In 2020, the number of live broadcasts run by users is expected to reach 526 million in China. Imported products can also use this sales method to expand sales channels and promote their products in the Chinese market. Currently, many importers have started to try live broadcasting, short live videos series showing from fishing to cooking and have achieved good sales results.
