1. The Chinese market is picking up, and imports of Northern shrimp have increased significantly.
According to statistics from China Customs, China’s imports of Canadian northern shrimp decreased by 5.7% during 2020 to 50,427 tons, and the number in 2019 was 53,461 tons. However, in January this year, imports of Canada northern shrimp increased by 24.2% to 2,671 tons, exceeding 2,150 tons in the same period last year.
Canada plans to further expand its supply to the Asian market and achieve its annual export volume of more than 60,000 tons.

3. This year, since February and March, the prices of Vietnam Basa fish have begun to pick up. According to previous reports, the price trend depends on whether the purchase from China can return to a normal level.
According to the expectations of local practitioners in Vietnam, after the Qingming Festival in China, orders from China are expected to gradually increase.
4.Russian seafood exports to China are recovering.
Russian seafood exports to China have also recovered. In mid-March of this year, Russia shipped more than 50 tons of live snow crabs to Shanghai Port. During the same period, Russia’s Primorye Territory exported 23,700 tons of fish products to China.
