China Government is still working hard to get 100% coverage before the end of December 2020.
The new traceability system guarantees all the import frozen cargo is 100% virus checked and disinfected.
The new protocol covers the following measurements:
- All import frozen cargo once in the port will go through a virus check. If negative, Customs delivers the Virus check certificate. If positive, the cargo will be rejected or destroyed.
- With the Virus check certificate, the cargo will be transported to the new public turnover center for one by one disinfection. This operation is done with an automatic fast speed machine. Once disinfected, the Disease control department will deliver the Disinfect certificate.
- All kinds of cold storage must register in the traceability system and get the license to work on reception and storage operations; without the registration license, they will not be allowed to offer any storage service to the market.
With both certificates and the storage license, the cargo can be delivered to any destination store without further disinfection operations. However, random virus checks could be implemented as the last safety measure.
The new protocol will help to increase the supply logistics speed and bring clarity for all the stakeholders into the system.
By the end of December 2020, all the import frozen food will be fully under the new traceability system and fast moving between different market areas.
