Since September, China Customs has taken emergency preventive measures against more than 20 companies from 9 countries, involving nearly 30 batches of frozen products with positive nucleic acid detection of covid-19.
On September 29 alone, China Customs issued three notifications in a row, taking emergency preventive measures against three companies from India, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
In the notification, five batches of frozen products were detected as positive for covid-19 virus nucleic acid and were suspended the acceptance of import declarations for 1-5 weeks. The main products involved were frozen vannamei shrimp, frozen ribbon fish, yellow croaker, and frozen moray.
Since September, among the 9 countries notified, Myanmar has been notified as many as 4 times; followed by Indonesia, Pakistan, and Russia, at 3 times; other countries involved include South Korea, Malaysia, Peru, India, and Vietnam. From the perspective of product batches, Indonesia involves the most product batches, with 7 batches; Myanmar has 5 batches, and Russia and Pakistan both have 4 batches.
Frozen ribbon fish mainly comes from Myanmar and other countries, frozen squid mainly comes from Indonesia and Peru, and all products related to Russia are cod. Frozen ribbon fish is the most involved.
