The Myanmar Fisheries Federation Secretary-General Wu Wenkai said that the government needs to further promote the development of the country’s product industry, and increase the export of aquatic products to China.
At present, the Myanmar Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation are actively coordinating with the China General Administration of Customs on the signing of a memorandum on the export of aquatic products and the China-Myanmar Inspection and Quarantine Agreement.
In the last fiscal year, Myanmar’s aquatic product exports reached more than 700 million U.S. dollars, of which, the export volume to China was more than 200 million U.S. dollars, accounting for about 30% of the Myanmar market aquatic products.
