Affected by the epidemic in Nanjing, Shanghai Pudong Airport will suspend the acceptance of imported cold chain and chilled products in the next two weeks.
The three major domestic airlines (Air China, China Southern Airlines, and Eastern Airlines) have notified domestic importers to suspend all imported cold chain and fresh/live goods from Shanghai Pudong Airport.
Notice from Shanghai Pudong Airport is as follows:
Due to the severe epidemic prevention situation in recent days, according to the relevant policy requirements of Shanghai Airport Prevention and Control, all cargo stations in Pudong will suspend the international inbound cargo operation services of some routes within two weeks from now:
Airlines of Japan, Singapore, Europe, and the Americas will suspend all cold chain and fresh cargo transportation;
Bangkok route suspends all inbound cargo transportation.
All along, the three major airlines have carried almost all the volume of Shanghai’s fresh salmon. This time all cancellations were taken by surprise, and no one prepared any emergency measures. The suspension is expected to have a certain impact on the prices of domestic and imported cold and fresh/ live seafood in China.
