On April 3, China customs announced on web:
Due to the positive detection of the coronavirus nucleic acid in the product samples imported from Ecuador, in accordance with the regulations of the General Administration of Customs Announcement No. 103 of 2020, the national customs will suspend the acceptance of the import declaration of the enterprise with Ecuador registration number 32 for one week from now on, of companies with registration number 4251 and 6807 for 4 weeks, with registration number 5658 for 1 week, and finally, with registration number 41068 for 28 weeks.
Since March 9, imported Ecuadorian white shrimp has been continuously tested positive for coronavirus by China customs. As of today, a total of 58 companies have been suspended. The products of several factories that sell well in China have been tested positive one after another, and the 8503, 41068 and other factories have been detected many times. The 8503 factory has been suspended for a maximum of 74 weeks. Even if there is no more notification, it will not be available until August. Judging from the current information, there are still 11 white shrimp factories that have been suspended, and factories 4093, 13717, 6147, and 6107 have just reached the liberation date. Due to frequent detections, according to industry sources, some factories have stated that they need to be paid in full in advance to ship.
With the spread of the epidemic abroad and the strengthening of China’s inspection of imported cold chain products, factories may need to further improve epidemic prevention standards, and for the new payment terms importers and manufacturers will also need more time to negotiate and resolve.
