At the press conference a few days ago, the spokesperson of the General Administration of Customs of China introduced: As of last week, customs across the country had sampled 4.87 million samples and detected 1,384 nucleic acid positive samples. For goods tested positive, the customs strictly implemented emergency preventive measures, suspending product import declarations of overseas enterprises for one or four weeks in accordance with regulations.
As of last week, the customs had implemented 868 emergency preventive measures against 567 overseas food business units.
This week, there have been reports of positive samples detected by the customs during the entry declaration of imported cold chain food. On May 27, the customs issued 5 consecutive circulars, announcing emergency preventive measures against 23 overseas frozen food companies from 6 countries. One of them was a well-known Ecuadorian company and the others were from South Korea, Russia, Vietnam, and Peru.
Due to the detection of positive nucleic acid for coronavirus in a sample of the inner packaging of a batch of frozen vannamei shrimp imported from Ecuador, in accordance with the regulations of the General Administration of Customs Announcement No. 103 of 2020, the national customs will suspend the deceleration of Ecuadorian company Sociedad Nacional de Galápagos C.A. SONGA (registration number 56) 4 weeks to June 23, 2022.
